Outfit of the day #1 (1/10/12)

This is the first 'Outfit of the day' I have posted. This is what I wore after school, not my usual suits I have to wear for Sixth Form (this is a subject I shall cover some other time). It's not massively exciting, and it's rather similar to all my other outfits.

Shirt - Roket - £10
Jeans - Topman - £28
Creepers - Underground (via Office) - £89
Socks - Topman - £3

What I listen to

I know I said I would be writing about fashion, but music is rather important to me and I am basically a music journalist.

Whenever I am asked about music, I will mention Slow Club. If someone else were to mention Slow Club (this has yet to happen), I would probably ask them to marry me. It is therefore logical to tell you about Slow Club first. They are a four piece from Sheffield, though are normally known as a duo (Charles and Rebecca). Their music hovers around the indie-pop to indie-folk mark. On extra thing, they are perfect.

Summer Camp are another band I listen to a lot. They probably draw with Slow Club when it comes to comedy duos, as both bands are hilarious live. They released a debut last year, called Welcome to Condale, where they basically created an imaginary, American town from the 1980s, then wrote a whole bunch of songs about it.

At the moment, I've been listening to Allo Darlin' a lot. They released their second album, Europe, this year, though their self-titled debut is what I've been addicted to mainly.

Lucy Rose released her debut last week. It is wonderful and I have been listening to it on almost constant repeat. I am currently writing a review for it.

There are many, many more bands that I listen to, but I haven't really got time to share them all. If you can think of any bands I might not know and would like, feel free to comment.

I'm a creep

It was only a short matter of time before I had to write about creepers. Since I got my first pair, I have worn them about 98% of the times I have worn shoes. I do truly love them. I look at creepers so much, that every advert I see on the internet is from Office telling me to buy creepers. This obviously worked, as I recently bought a new pair of 'Mallard Blue' creepers. 'Mallard Blue', however is just a fancy term for a saturated teal-like colour. They're perfect. I cannot comprehend a lovelier pair of shoes.

Saturday

Today's purchase

For a boy, I do enjoy shopping a great deal. I normally end up buying a camera or some item of clothing everytime I go into town. I used to be pretty tight with my money, but have recently started spending more. This probably isn't a good thing.

Today, I went into my favourite local shop. It's called Enjoy and is a vintage store. I was tempted to buy a camera from there, but they were a bit over-priced and not that unique. I did, however, buy a shirt. It is wonderful!

It was £15, is 100% cotton and is vintage. It's slightly too big (making me look slightly overweight in this photo), but I like baggy shirts sometimes. The patern is pretty rad and reminds me a bit of the night sky in medieval paintings. It also has pockets a few inches from the bottom (so where you would find pockets on a jacket), which I have never seen on a shirt before. I wore it with grey skinnies and teal creepers.

Friday

Hello, I guess

Hello reader,

This is my attempt at a fashion blog. I've never really tried to write or talk about fashion before, apart from a brief period in which I used Instagram. That, however, was mainly photos of my various outfits, and my use of it ended suddenly when I forgot the password and that of the email address it was set up on. I am no stranger to blogs, though; I have had about three blogs in the past, as well as writing for a well known, online music magazine.

My taste is fashion comes down to three items: shirts, skinnies and, most importantly, creepers. My everyday outfits just feature subtle variation on those items of clothing. Creeepers are the key to my heart (as well as Slow Club, a band, but that's a different story); I currently have two pairs (black and teal) but am always considering buying more.

I think that's enough about me for now. I'll just have to start posting things for you to read.
